Tin Can Chic

After decorating this tin for a Christmas gift container I wasn't happy with the rim which still showed through.  After noticing the old German paper lace on ornaments I decided that I could make my own out of old yellowed sheet music.  Here's the container after I finished the top ...............
and this is some more I finished this evening.                           Diane

  1. Hey Diane! They all turned out so beautifully. Did you spray paint at all or just go with paper? Did you decoupage or just glue everything on? I've never thought much about hiding the rim. On coffee cans, it's not such a big deal, but with the tin cans, for safety reasons would definitely be a good idea. I love how yours turned out. Best wishes and happy day to you. Tammy

  2. Hi Tammy, I just used paper all the way. I can't spray paint now because it's 12 degrees above right now and I have tons of paper. Thanks for the nice compliments. I got the idea from you, I just changed it some for the tin cans. I probably should decoupage. Good idea. Have a wonderful day, Diane

  3. Chic is right. These are wonderful! I know I'm not really getting my wishes in on time. The truth is, it's just after midnight, but I still had to come by and wish you the merriest Christmas season ever. I want to thank you for making my life richer by sharing your blog and by reading mine. You are a blessing to me. Merry, merry Christmas, my frined. May the coming week bring you laughter, joy, short returns lines, and lots of good deals at the after-Christmas sales. ;^) Much love, Relyn

  4. These are really neat mom! Carl and Marilyn bought 2 OXO (brand) lid cutters (for tin cans). They are so cool, they don't leave a sharp edge. Maybe I will give you one of ours, or buy you your own. What amazing ideas you have! love you
